BuckScout Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026
BuckScout is a private app for members of a hunting club. It is published by an individual developer based in Texas, USA (the seller listed for BuckScout on the App Store). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Signing in
You sign in with your email address. We email you a one-time code to confirm it is you. Your email address is used to sign you in and so club admins can see who is in the club. We do not send marketing email.
Information you and your club enter
BuckScout stores what club members enter so the club can share it, including stand locations and stand check-ins, deer and hog sighting reports, buck profiles, harvest log entries, scrapbook posts, comments, and photos you choose to upload. Your display name is shown to other members of your club next to what you post.
Location
With your permission, the app uses your device's location to show where you are on the lease map, to check you in to a stand, and to place a sighting or a new stand. Locations you save with a check-in, sighting or stand are shared only with members of your club. The app does not track your location in the background, and you can turn location access off at any time in iOS Settings.
Who can see your information
Club data is visible only to members of the same club. It is not public, and it is not shared with other clubs.
Where it is stored
Accounts, club data and photos are stored with Supabase, a cloud database and storage provider, in the United States. To show maps and weather, the app requests map imagery (for example from Esri and the U.S. Geological Survey) and weather forecasts (Open-Meteo) for the lease area. Those services receive the map area or coordinates being viewed and your device's network address, as any website would, but not your name, email or club data.
Subscriptions
A club admin can buy one subscription for the whole club inside the app. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple Account; we never see or store your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to check whether a club's subscription is active. RevenueCat receives the App Store purchase record (product, price, purchase and renewal dates) together with the club's anonymous ID, which is used as the app user ID. When a member opens the club's subscription screen, or buys or restores a subscription, the app also gives RevenueCat the club's name and that member's email address and user ID, so we can identify the purchase if the club needs help with billing. RevenueCat does not receive other members' information or any club data. RevenueCat tells our database when a club's subscription starts, renews or ends so the app can unlock for the club. You can manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings > your name > Subscriptions.
No selling, no ads
We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.
Deleting your data
You can delete your own posts in the app. To delete your account, open the Club tab and tap Delete my account. This permanently deletes your sign-in, profile, club memberships, chat messages, scrapbook posts, comments, hearts and the photos you uploaded. Sightings, stand sits and harvests you logged are club records (for example the club's season observation report — the TPWD report for Texas clubs — and harvest log), so they stay with the club without your name, and photos attached to harvests you logged are removed. If you are the only member of a club, that club is deleted too. If you are the only admin of a club that has other members, make another member an admin first. You can also email support@buckscoutapp.com from the address you sign in with, and we will delete it within 30 days.
Reporting and blocking
You can report content or block a member in the app. Reports, including the reported text and your optional reason, are shown to your club's admins. Blocks are private to you.
Children
BuckScout is intended for adult club members and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
